Top executives of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) tourism industry gathered on Sunday in Dubai to discuss the challenges and growth opportunities in local and regional travel and tourism sector.

Reed Travel Exhibitions, a world’s leading tourism events organizer initiated the  first Advisory Board Meeting of the annual Arabian Travel Market Congress.
 
 
They further discussed how they could optimize the use of technology of the fourth industrial revolution in the hospitality sector.
 
 
In the first six months of 2018 the Dubai tourism market saw stagnation.It once saw double-digit growth rates, the Dubai’s Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing said that the emirates welcomed 8.1 million visitors in the first half of 2018 which was only 0.5 percent up.
 
 
A UAE based carrier suffered a 1.52 billion U.S. dollar loss in 2017 showing the challenges that the UAE and Middle East tourism faced during recent years considering the recent oil slump.
 
The Dubai government has earlier said that Dubai government wants to welcome 25 million tourists by 2025.
